Local Community
The Lord has told us what is right and what he demands: “See that justice is done, let mercy be your first concern, and humbly obey your God.” Micah 6:8
After spending his life and ministry serving others, Jesus told his disciples, “I have set an example that you should do as I have done for you.” At TCPC we serve God by serving others. Our Food Pantry works with FeedMore on a weekly basis to provide help to those who need it. Our monthly 5 Cents A Meal offering goes to support the goal of ending hunger in our community and world. Our building provides space to groups such as Career Prospectors and AA as they reach out to people. We believe God calls us to love in Jesus’ name.
Community Outreach at TCPC
TCPC Food Pantry
TCPC is a proud Feedmore partner agency, distributing nutritious food to families every Tuesday from 5:00-6:30 pm in the Lower Fellowship Hall and parking lot.
On November 11, the TCPC Food Pantry helped a record number of 314 families! In September and October, the food pantry helped feed 9,551 people. Each Tuesday, our Food Pantry volunteers distribute at least 5,000 pounds of food. For the year 2022, over 260,00 pounds of food were given to our neighbors in need.
If you are interested in coming to the Food Pantry for food assistance, you are welcome to join on Tuesday, from 5-6:30pm at TCPC (9315 Three Chopt Rd, Richmond VA 23229). No prior registration is needed.
You can support this vital ministry by giving directly to the food pantry here (select “TCPC Food Pantry” under “Fund”) or by dropping off food donations in the Narthex on weekdays between 9am-1pm or on Sundays during worship. The Food Pantry is currently seeking canned foods, such as proteins, fruits, and vegetables.

Please bring your gifts & donations to the Missions corner in the Narthex at TCPC.
Christmas Outreach: Assisting Families of Inmates
Help Make the Christmas Season Brighter for Children With an Incarcerated Family Member
As we’ve done for many years, the Mission and Justice Ministry Team is providing an early start to the Christmas season of giving. We are working with Assisting Families of Inmates (AFOI) to provide a holiday gift and essential items (all low cost items) for children that participate in their program.
AFOI works in eight Richmond City Elementary Schools conducting weekly support groups for students with an incarcerated parent or other close family member. They provide transportation to several prison facilities so families can remain connected. AFOI’s work reduces the cycle of recidivism by breaking down barriers between the incarcerated and their loved ones. Learn more about AFOI here.
Pick-up an information sheet from the table in the narthex. It will have details about the requested items. Items must be returned by November 30. Be sure to sign the list on the table if you’ll be helping with this outreach program; this is important so we know all the children assigned to TCPC are spoken for.
