Deacons and Care Groups
The Deacons of TCPC serve as the hands and heart of Christ’s care within our congregation. The
caring will continue, but with a new added focus.
TCPC will now have “Care Groups” – groups of 15 (or so) households that will be under the care of one deacon. (If you were a member in the 1990s, you might remember “Clusters.” Similar idea, slightly different goals.)
The deacon’s role as a Care Group leader includes:
Providing regular, caring contact
Offering prayer and encouragement
Helping to coordinate meals or support during difficult times
Sharing needs with pastors when appropriate
Strengthening relationships within the church family
Every active member of TCPC has been assigned to a deacon-led Care Group. You will be
contacted by your deacon very soon!
Once you know your deacon’s name, you are welcome to contact them with your needs and
concerns. As always, you may also share that information with the pastor, church office, and/or
the deacon group. Each e-newsletter has the contact numbers/emails listed.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact Cathy Curfman, Deacon Moderator.
